I havent been posting much on this blog; not that i dont have anything to say; i just never seem to have the time lately. Today i had a dream that i just have to talk about; it freaked me out it was so real, so full of detail....i'm scared it might be a premonition of a plane crash about to happen.
The weird thing is this dream took place within five minutes time, during a nap. I NEVER nap! Well, that is until today. So first i have to explain why i napped, because that's something thats sort of embarrassing for me to admit that i napped! I dont nap! I hate napping, it makes me feel crappy and old and grumpy so i just don't nap, never! But i had a late night at the casino playing poker and didnt get enough sleep the night before but had to get up early to go to Granville Island for an art demo class by
http://www.micheletheberge.com which btw was ok; learned alot about Liquitex products and received a nice gift bag of paints, mediums etc, some of which i've never used before.
Now, to get the full picture you also have to understand http://www.granvilleisland.com ..... its an art, food and fun paradise and theres billions of people and 4 parking spots. Ok ok so i'm exaggerating, but its tricky and slowwwww and alot of no parking or 1 hour only otherwise 3 hour parking which is enforced with hefty fines for those who dare to stay an extra 5 minutes. (thats for us cheapo's who refuse to use pay parking; hey, theres lots of free parking, you just have to look for it, be able to walk alot, and be really lucky) So for my visit there i used 3 parking spots which each took a long time to find, plus i did a lot of walking and even lost the car once. Otherwise i enjoyed the demo class and the street buskers, the pigeons and watching the sea gulls antics while hunkered over my chinese combo plate lunch to protect it from getting *splatted*
This also includes the time spent shopping for art supplies at http://www.opusframing.com in which very oddly they had almost no Liquitex products on the shelves, dispite being the sponsor of the Liquitex demo class. I also shopped the marketplace for my fav. food which is apples and was so glad to find an amazing array of the old heritage types, some i had never heard of before, all organically grown on Denman Island. I was especially happy to find several varieties hybridized from Cox Orange Pippins, which is my all time fav as well as some Northern Spys and Mutsus. Also bought organic hazelnuts from the Sumas valley and the most incredible organic Dagoba chocolate bar from Ashland, Oregon......would you believe lavender and blueberry flavored? OMG! its so good! Says right on it "Chocolate is sacred and there's an art to the alchemy of flavor infusion, an art we explore with mystery and integrity" How could i resist? My only regret is not buying one of the rose and a lime flavored one as well.
Well i know i'm rambling; maybe its just an attempt to avoid talking about the dream but i will continue now. I just had to say why i was tired and why i was napping! Gawd i hate napping. Anyhow i finally got home, all tired and suffering toe cramps from all that walking and the cat was acting all cute and fluffy cuddly so i climbed under the nice warm quilt with him for just a minute, or so i thought. After an hour of dreamless sleep i was awakened by a neighbors car horn that was stuck. Bob came into the room to get a better view from the window to see whose car it was. The beeping stopped and i went back to sleep and thats when i had
***The Dream***
When i awoke i asked him how long it had been since the beeping and he said about 5 minutes. I couldnt believe it as the dream was most unusual and super long. It was like a long movie and full of colour and drama, many events covering a long period of time, people, conversations and so much detail but i wont go into all of that.
It ended with us being on a plane; a big one with probably 300+ passengers flying east and approaching mountains.
In reality we rarely go east; we go usually west or south when we fly together. It was night time and dark but for some reason i was thinking that the foothills were still green and didnt have any snow on them yet.
Suddenly there was a flash of light or a sort of a fireball outside of the plane, and then the plane was spinning, wing over wing and i knew it was the end for us and then the lights went out.
I saw the headlines and the stories of the crash on tv and in the newspapers and i saw our names listed as being amongst the dead. I know nobody would have survived because we had been in the air for quite a while at cruising altitude. They said that an asteroid had hit the plane; it had clipped the tip of a wing. Now, i've never heard of this happening before and dont even know if its possible. I also dont know if in reality that would cause a plane to spin like that, like those toys that you flick with your finger to set them spinning, but thats what it did in my dream, so real, in technicolor and with Dolby surround sound.
I just hope this wasnt a warning or a premonition of something thats going to happen. It worries me that soon the mountains will have snow on the lower hills, and if its going to happen it'll happen soon, before the snow flies.
I've had premonitions/dreams before and some came true but others havent (yet)
We arn't planning to fly anywhere together soon, and if we did it would most likely be south to the states or south west to Hawaii and theres no mountains (like that) on the way. It looked to me like Canadian mountains and probably the Cascades range. I feel it was possibly near the 2500 metre rugged Mt. Slesse which is the site of western Canadas worst and most famous plane crash that happened about 50 years ago when a plane with 62 people onboard went off course on a foggy night and slammed into the side of "the Fang" killing all aboard.

Most of the wreckage of the crash remains there, minus the souvenirs removed by morbid mountain climbing thrill seekers. It is also the graveyard of all those people and a monument was finally placed near the base of the mountain about 40 yrs after the crash to protect the place and the dignity of the dead. God only knows what all was removed in all those years of Canadian bureaucracy (this is googled info that i just learned today as i was just a kid when this crash occured) I really just vaguely remember hearing that there were CFL football players on board and a very rich man who was wearing a bulging money belt - that was exciting info to kids, conjuring up visions of taking a little hike and finding the money. It most definitely had not been in my mind in any way shape or form prior to seeing the area in my dream) I do however know which one is the infamous Mt Slesse as seen from afar because i always search it out when driving up to the interior of B.C. on the 401 freeway.
My dreams can usually be traced back to a recent movie or tv show or some little thing i saw or something that somebody said, or something i'd been thinking of but not this time. Nothing like this has been on my mind and there hasnt been any plane crashes or any other similarities lately to clue into or to blame it on. Now, i dont mean to imply theres any importance to it; it was just a dream thats all.
And, as real as it was guess i wont bother calling the airlines with my dire warning, even though i still have a feeling of impending doom for a planeload of people. I just hope and pray it was just another crazy dream and that it dosnt actually happen and that it'll get out of my head quickly.
